Love & Money with Financial Therapist Dr. Sonya Lutter

While the romances of Hollywood and literature buoy our expectations of Valentine’s Day, our own relationships often face a different reality. This week, Wes sits down with financial therapist Dr. Sonya Lutter to explore why the combination of love and money is so combustible, and what can be done diffuse that stress and positively impact our relationships.

Sonya’s book, Love & Money: 15 exercises to strengthen your relationship, is about the importance of discussing values and family, before finances lead to conflict. In this episode, Sonya shares three things younger couples can focus on right now that will impact their financial future.

Sonya is the founder of ENLITE, which further bridges the gap between finances and therapy for professionals. As a co-founder of the Financial Therapy Association, Sonya has built academic training in financial therapy and the psychology of financial planning. After spending time at Kansas State University, Sonya now works at Texas Tech University in Financial Health and Wellness.
